Overview

At Bryan our mission is "educating students to become servants of Christ to make a difference in today's world." This mission is central to what we do in the Education Department. Our goal is to equip you to influence children and youth in order to help them to become productive leaders of their generation. We do this in three ways:
  • We provide you with a rigorous college education in the liberal arts and/or in a specific subject area.
  • We teach you how to be an effective classroom teacher.
  • We do this in the context of a biblical understanding of the teaching/ learning process.
Students who complete our program successfully, including passing the appropriate Praxis II exams, receive a Tennessee teaching license and a professional level teaching certificate from the Association of Christian Schools International.

Most of our programs are fulfilled in conjunction with a major from the respective department.

Everything we do is geared to helping you to enter the classroom ready to teach well and to be a godly influence on your students regardless of the setting. All of our education faculty members have been or still are successful practitioners in their respective teaching fields.

Our desire is to send out well-prepared godly teachers who have the gifts and the calling to make an impact on their students academically and spiritually. We teach an eclectic approach to teaching and learning which is research-based and maintains the balance between student-centered and content-based methods. Everything we do is assessed in light of a biblical worldview.
