Following graduation, he attended Dallas Theological Seminary. During his studies there, he met his wife, Lauralee, and they were married in August 1971. In 1975, Paul and Lauralee moved to Knoxville, Tennessee where he joined the staff of New Life, a friendship evangelism and discipleship ministry. While in Knoxville, he pursued graduate study in philosophy at the University of Tennessee. In l981, Paul started his own discipleship ministry, Anchor Foundation. In 1994, Paul was invited to come and teach philosophy at Bryan College. He began teaching full-time in the fall of 1995 and continues at Bryan to the present time. Paul and Lauralee have five children and nine grandchildren.
Bryan is a place where good education can take place; we are encouraged to engage ideas and pursue Truth so that students can learn how to think critically and evaluate ideas on their own. As professors in philosophy and biblical studies, we do not always agree on interpretive matters, but we always love each other, so that students can observe people who may disagree but still love and cheerfully cooperate together.
