Yes! Bryan College Online offers Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) to recognize college-level learning you’ve gained outside the classroom—through career training, military service, volunteer work, or other non-traditional learning experiences.

Eligible undergraduate students can earn elective credit by completing the GS 110 Portfolio Development Workshop and submitting a portfolio that demonstrates how their learning meets academic standards. CPL is awarded for learning—not just experience—and follows national best practices established by the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL).

You may earn up to 24 credit hours through the portfolio process, and up to 31 total hours when combined with other prior learning assessments like military training or exams. CPL credit cannot be applied to general education or core program courses, and it’s best to begin the process later in your degree journey.
Your advisor can help you decide if CPL is a good fit and guide you through each step.

Please review the Financial Aid information for online students for information on the current assessment fees for the CPL program.
