Mark Garcia

Leaving the service is a difficulty that most military personnel are not prepared for, especially not for their identity to be stripped away an instant. At Bryan College, I found myself surrounded by people who helped re-center my identity in Christ, a place where every single one of my professors knows me by name. In the service, I was known as Sergeant, a title that could be taken away with the stroke of a pen. At Bryan College, I was reminded that I’m Mark, child of the one true king, a title that nobody could take away from me.
