YesDaniel and Cheryl Van Andel’s lifelong interest in both the nursing and medical profession inspired them to establish the Daniel and Cheryl Van Andel Excellence in Nursing Scholarship.
Its purpose is to aid a deserving Bryan College student in his or her goal of becoming an RN. Daniel attended Bryan College from 1975-1978 before transferring to Grand Valley State University to earn his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Healthcare. He later obtained his Master of Science in Healthcare Education in 2009 and enjoyed a long career as both an RN and Clinical Instructor before retiring in 2019. Cheryl spent 30 years in the field of book publishing and was the Visual Communications Manager for Baker Publishing Group before retiring in 2018. Daniel and Cheryl are excited to be a part of Bryan College’s new School of Nursing Program and to provide financial assistance to the next generation of Christian nurses.

Any scholarship will be awarded on a year-to-year basis. A student who is a recipient one year
is eligible for consideration in any other year for a maximum of four years; however, they must
meet renewal requirements.
