Biography
I grew up in a Baptist pastor’s home with four siblings. My parents have consistently been instrumental in shaping my life by exemplifying the love and servant leadership of Jesus Christ. Their enduring love for one another has also proven to be an inspiration for all who know them. My parents instilled an attitude of humility and thankfulness into the lives of their children. With this rich Christian heritage to glean from, I gravitated to nursing many years ago. I quickly realized that nursing was a calling for me. In a way, nursing became my mission field, my ministry.
I have worked in various roles throughout my 35 year nursing career, which has spanned across the stages of life. I have been blessed to care for everyone from infants to the elderly. I have found tremendous joy and personal enrichment as God has enabled me to serve people. In recent years, I have worked as a Nurse Practitioner. Whether I have served as a nurse or a health care provider, education has always been an integral part of my care for patients. I look forward to my new role as a nursing professor here at the Clara Ward School of Nursing at Bryan College. I consider it a privilege to help educate future nurses. Being able to teach nursing with a Christian worldview is an honor.
I had previously attended many of my niece’s dance recitals at Rudd Auditorium. I could not have imagined that I would be teaching nursing at Bryan one day. God always has a plan and I am thankful that He led me here!
