Biography

Mr. Munteanu grew up in Los Angeles as a child of Romanian immigrants. His parents strongly emphasized the importance of a good education, so he was homeschooled until he was fourteen and started community college at fifteen. While getting his bachelor’s in physics at Cal Poly Pomona, he had the opportunity to become a physics tutor. He loved tutoring so much that it shifted him toward education as a career. After graduating, he moved to a small town in East Texas where he spent the next two years teaching, splitting his time between a tiny private elementary school and the community college in town. Unable to adjust to the shock of trading LA for rural living, Mr. Munteanu moved to North Texas to pursue his master’s degree at UNT. While studying there, he met his lovely bride Grace, a Bryan alum, at church in the young adults group. After graduating in 2021, Mr. Munteanu spent two years teaching high school but always hoped to get back to teaching at the college level. Grace, meanwhile, had always hoped to return to Dayton, so she pointed him toward Bryan College. He is now very happy, getting to do what he loves, and he’s learned to really enjoy life in a small town.

I came to Bryan because I've never heard someone talk about a school the way I heard my wife talk about her time here. Bryan has such a powerful legacy of impacting students for Christ over the years, and it's such a joy to be able to participate in that!
