Jody L. Cheon

Biography

Jody’s father traveled extensively representing the Duncan Yo-Yo Company and took his family with him. By the time she was 10, she had lived in or traveled through 44 of the 50 states and 7 countries.  It was an amazing experience and education!  When that period was over, her family settled in south Florida where she lived until moving to Tennessee in July 2000 to work at Bryan College.  Before coming to Bryan her work experience included banking, bookkeeping, church staff, and self-employment.  She and her husband were drawn here by the opportunity to disciple students.

Jody came to know the Lord as a young teenager while attending an AWANA Club.  She met her husband, Gary, while living in the Florida Keys.  They celebrated their 50^th anniversary in 2022 and have three grown children (two of whom graduated from Bryan) and three grandchildren.  They have continued to travel, visiting Europe, Asia, and Australia, as well as the Caribbean, Central, and South America. They are grateful to have seen many sites of Biblical, historic, and cultural significance!

Jody is an avid reader, a lover of etymology and obscure words, and enjoys Sudoku puzzles, nature walks, and creative cooking in her spare time.
