Leah Thompson
Leah Thompson is entering her first season as the Head Coach of the Bryan College Softball program. She joins us after serving four years at AAC conference rival Tennessee Wesleyan University where last season’s staff was named the National Fastpitch Coaches Associations’ Region I Coaching Staff of the Year. Coach Thompson previously spent six years with the Rhea County High School program earning respected titles. As a player for then Carson-Newman College, she was named All-Conference in the South Atlantic Conference in 2009-2011. In the 2011 season, she was also named All-Region, an All-American, won the South Atlantic Conference Batting Title, and was named the Offensive Player of the Year.
Bryan Athletic Director, Jenny Swafford says, “Coach Thompson brings the unique values and skills that are non-negotiables for our department. She has a desire for growth and development with the Christian life as we do. She pushes for excellence. And she works hard to build relationships. I have confidence in the direction of this program and cannot wait to see how far softball goes under her leadership!”
She is already settling into campus, so please continue welcoming Coach Thompson in! You will most likely spot her with her husband Nathan as they prepare the field and with their son Luca tagging along!
