Biography
Rose Lobach spent much of her adult life as an Emergency RN at the Erlanger Emergency Department,
in downtown Chattanooga. Hired as a staff RN, she became an Assistant Nurse Manager, Staff Orientation
Trainer, and eventually Nurse Manager. Her management leadership style “We lead by lifting others up”,
adopted from a mentor, Ted Rogers. Other jobs and positions held at Erlanger: House Supervisor, IV
Team RN, Oncology Manager, and Trauma Services Response Team. She has prior RN experience at CHI
Memorial and ED management experience at HCA Parkridge (West).
The many years of ED and trauma experience led her to serve for 15 years as a Tactical Nurse for the
Chattanooga Special Weapons and Tactics team. She became a certified EMT-T (Tactical) through
training at the Counter Narcotics and Terrorism Task Operational Medical Support (CONTOMS) in
Washington DC. In addition to the provision of LEO medical support on Chattanooga SWAT callouts and
training, her Tactical Nurse service included team training in the areas of scene triage, medicine across
the barricade, medical care under fire, casualty care, and disaster preparedness.
The insult to our America on September 11, 2001, inspired her to become a Staff RN team member on
Tennessee’s first FEMA response team, TN 1 DMAT, a Disaster Medical Assistance Team. On mission to
the catastrophic regional aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, her five-man strike team medically supported
the Disaster Mortician Teams (DMORT) in their difficult duties of human remains retrieval and
identification.
She is now a Family Nurse Practitioner. Prior to coming to Bryan College, she served in a local rural clinic
as a Nurse Practitioner. She is currently PRN with the Hospitalist service at Erlanger.
