Bryan alumni and friends have met–and exceeded–their match!

More than $113,000 was received by July 1 in response to a $100,000 matching gift challenge, Vice President for Advancement Blake Hudson announced. "There are additional gifts in the mail that will increase this total in the coming days. The generous response to the matching gift will provide essential scholarship support for many Bryan students," he said.

The challenge was offered by a generous friend of Bryan College for all gifts to the Bryan Scholarship Fund between May 20 and June 30, 2011.

"The challenge was not only met, but we also exceeded the goal," Mr. Hudson said. "I am grateful for the generous support from alumni and friends. The enthusiastic response was evident on the last day of the match, June 30. Two alumni dropped by the Advancement office with checks to make sure their gifts were received in time for the match, and that morning we received a priority mail envelope with a $5,000 gift from another alum that put us over the goal.

"On behalf of all the students, faculty and staff of Bryan College, thank you for your generous support. Your gifts are making a difference. Please contact the Advancement Office if we can be of assistance to you. You may reach us at 423.775.7323 or 1.800.55.BRYAN or by e-mail."
