Dr. Steve DeGeorge, professor of education and head of the department, said many of the lab’s original purposes were absorbed into the Kinsey Curriculum Lab, and technology and training needs were changing. “We had come to need a space where students could do a number of things besides use computers and presentation board,” he said.
“We needed a lab in which students can develop their electronic teaching portfolios, view and evaluate videos of themselves teaching, polish portions of these videos for their portfolios and use Skype to expand their experiences and communicate with colleagues worldwide. The new Levengood Teaching Lab does all that and more. It has more computing and learning power than previous labs and takes up less space.”
