Paulakay Hall named alumni director
February 15, 2013
Paulakay (Franks) Hall, ’84, has been named Bryan College alumni director effective March 1, Vice President for Advancement Blake Hudson announced Friday, February 15.
Mrs. Hall has served as alumni events coordinator since 2005 and brings a wealth of relationships with alumni to her new position. “I have had over 30 years of relationships with alumni from my class and those since 1984,” she said. “Over the past six years I’ve been able to get to know our precious Golden Grads (those from classes of 50 years ago or longer), and I really do love working with them.”
Mr. Hudson explained that the position announcement was posted in January, and the college received 10 resumes from interested individuals. From that number, five were selected for interviews by faculty and staff members, among them alumni from different eras.
Mrs. Hall earned her degree in Christian education in 1984, and is the mother of Emily (Ricketts) Rivera, ’09, and current student Jake Ricketts.
“I have been looking at focusing on legacy students—those whose parents or grandparents attended Bryan,” she said. “About 10 percent of our students are legacy students, but other Christian colleges average about 25 percent. I hope to focus on those students who are here now, and reconnect with alumni who have juniors or seniors in high school, to encourage them to put Bryan at the top of their list when they are looking for a college.
“I also hope to strengthen our alumni chapter network. I’d like to get chapters started closer to home and work our way out.
“I’m a person of great joy, and I look forward to bringing that to the job as I help reconnect alumni with the college. I’m very excited about this opportunity.”
