Bryan staff tours new Life Care facility

Bryan staff members got a peek at the new Life Care Center of Rhea County Tuesday, January 29, when the monthly staff luncheon moved off campus to the soon-to-be-opened facility north of Dayton.

Kate Swafford, who is the center’s executive director, said the company is planning a community open house in early March. While it has the same number of beds – 89 – as its current leased quarters in the former Rhea County Nursing Home, it will have more private rooms – 47 – and more amenities such as a library, ice cream parlor, day rooms and additional space for speech, occupational and physical therapy services.
Bryan President Dr. Stephen Livesay presented Mr. Hunter with a copy of “Inherit the Truth,” the video adaptation of the Scopes Trial play of the same name, and tickets to coming fine arts performances of the Mozart opera “Cosi fan tutte” and the spring musical “Cinderella.”
Following lunch, the Bryan staff toured the 96,000-square-foot facility.
