Resident Director, Huston Hall
Hometown: Greenville, OhioEducation: Bachelor of Arts in Education from Cedarville University; Master of Arts in Media and Communication from Dallas Theological Seminary
Favorite candy: Swedish fish, gummie worms, peanut M&M’s, and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
Sports: I love sports - volleyball, basketball, swimming, ice skating, football - I love playing too, but I’m not great.
Hobbies: I love reading, singing and acting!
A word that best describes me: Enthusiastic
Where I want to travel: I’d love to visit California! An interesting fact about my building: Before Huston Hall was built in 1964, the women of Bryan College lived in the third floor of Mercer. The building was named in honor of Miss Ruth Huston – a missionary to the Kentucky mountains, philanthropist and Bryan trustee.
Best residence life memory from college: When I was a resident assistant, I always decided to throw an end-of-the-year celebration with the girls in my hall. One year, we chose to spend the weekend at a hotel. That night was filled with junk food, swimming, talking and laughing. As a group we also had the opportunity to share the gospel (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) with some other people that happened to be staying at the same hotel. That memory sticks in my mind because we all had a blast laughing it up, but then we had the opportunity to be a light to broken people as the body of Christ working together.
My passions: I absolutely love dramatizing Scripture and making it come to life for people. Another passion of mine is theology in music and making sure the songs we sing teach truth.
Something I want to do before I die: I’ve worked at camp for several years, and I’d love to be a Camp Director at some point in my life. I just love the type of impact you can have with kids at camp.
A random fact about myself: Hmm…I’ve donated my hair to locks of love-twice.
What made me want to be an RD: To have the opportunity to live life with college students and encourage and spiritually challenge them. I also look at the life of Christ and see how he discipled a few and then those disciples changed the world. As a resident director, I have the opportunity to disciple a few (resident assistants) and they can therefore go out and impact the girls in their hall. I’m so excited to serve here at Bryan College!
What I love about Bryan: All the amazing people and their desire to grow in the love and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
