Book signing set for Dr. Jeff Myers
April 15, 2008
Dr. Jeff Myers will autograph copies of his new book, Handoff: The Only Way to Win the Race of Life
, during a book signing Tuesday, April 29, at the Bryan College bookstore.
Dr. Myers is associate professor of communication studies at Bryan, where he teaches undergraduate and MBA classes in leadership and communication. He also is president of Passing the Baton International
, a ministry designed to train adults to equip the next generation of Christian leaders.
He said he wrote Handoff as a clarion call to join what he sees as the most significant battle of our age, to understand what is at stake when a civilization doesn't pass the baton of godly faithfulness, and to act decisively to reverse current trends before it is too late.
“We’re facing a growing leadership crisis in business, government and the church. Our opportunity is for this generation of adults to put the signature on their legacy by taking responsibility to mentor, coach and disciple the next generation of leaders,” Dr. Myers said. Handoff offers ways to eliminate the fear adults may have of mentoring by showing how to speak truth and build relationships in a fun, natural and stress-free way.
The book signing will be held at the Bryan Bookstore
in the Latimer Student Center from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by an informal question and answer session at 6 p.m. in Mac’s Café, on the third floor of the student center.
