Fall commencement set Dec. 19
December 12, 2008
Bryan College will hold its 77th commencement service at Chattanooga’s Tivoli Theatre Dec. 19, the second fall graduation and the first off-campus ceremony in memory.
More than 120 graduates, including 13 MBA students, are to receive their degrees.
Academic Vice President Dr. Cal White said the ceremony has been moved to Chattanooga to accommodate the number of graduates and expected number of guests. “This year’s graduating class is significantly larger than last year’s, and last year Rudd Auditorium was full for the ceremony,” he said. “We decided to change venues to avoid inconveniencing friends and families of the graduates who plan to attend.”
The commencement address will be given by Dr. David Banks, president of Mpact Concepts, Destiny Institute, and pastor of The Empowerment Church. Dr. Banks, a 1990 Bryan graduate, is a certified behavioral consultant and a certified relationship specialist.
Bryan added a fall commencement service in 2007, in response to an increasing number of graduates each year and to recognize students in a more timely way after their course requirements are completed.
