Bryan College President Stephen Livesay and Class of 2009 advisor Michael Palmer said “thank you” to the La-Z-Boy “couch team” that designed and built an oversized couch that is now a dominant feature in the college’s student center Lions Den.

Members of the Class of 2009 asked members of the La-Z-Boy Product Development staff, including Bryan alumnus Tony McCuiston, '84, to build the eight feet by four feet couch. Mr. McCuiston said La-Z-Boy donated materials, and Product Development staff members donated their time and labor to build the couch, which was delivered this fall.

In addition to the plaque, presented by Dr. Livesay to designer Steve Nixon, who is a 2008 Bryan graduate, Mr. Palmer gave tokens of appreciation to couch team members on behalf of the Class of 2009.
