Classic Greek:  The Oedipus Story (Sophocles)

October 27-30, 2010; 7:30 p.m.; Brock Hall
Tickets $5 - BC Community, $7 – Non-BC students, $9 – Adults

“The myth of Oedipus, which reverberates to our own day, provided Sophocles with material for three great tragedies which together recount the downfall of Oedipus, King of Thebes, his death in exile, and final redemption.” This production recounts the first two plays written by Sophocles and focuses entirely on the Oedipus story. This is considered “the” classic model of tragedy.

Classic Christmas: Scrooge: The Musical (Leslie Bricusse)

December 9-11, 2010; 7:30 p.m.; Rudd Auditorium
Tickets $5 – BC Community, $8 – Non-BC students, $10 – Adults

Based on the classic Charles Dickens tale, A Christmas Carol, this stage adaptation of the 1970 film includes six new songs not performed in the film. Come join the fun as you will experience everyone’s favorite seasonal classic tale of Ebenezer Scrooge’s transformation from miser to minister.

Classic Suspense: Night Watch (Lucille Fletcher)

January 31-February 5 2011, 7 p.m.; Brock Hall; Dessert Theatre
Tickets Dessert evenings $8 – BC Community, $11 – Adults
Dinner Show $16 – BC Community, $20 – Adults

The premise of the play is a fancy brownstone apartment in Kips Bay, from which one can see into an abandoned tenement. Did Elaine Wheeler really see a body or two there, or is she, as her husband, John, and her best friend, Blanche, apparently believe, going cuckoo? Who can be trusted? John? Blanche? Elaine? The maid? The pesky neighbor? The psychiatrist – if she even is one?

Classic Shakespeare: A Midsummer Night's Dream

April 14-16, 2011, 7:30 p.m.; Rudd Auditorium
Tickets $5 – BC Community, $7 – Non-BC Student, $9 – Adults

The action takes place in a mythical Athens where three sets of “actors” intersect in the woods on “midsummer’s eve:” the lovers, the players, and the fairies. What takes place as all the characters get tangled in the webs of magic and trickery makes for a sidesplitting evening of fun.
