Josh Bales, a 2003 Bryan graduate who is making waves in the music industry, has dedicated his new song, “Count the Stars,” to the college and is seeking to expand his effort to an EP.
On his Kickstarter site Josh says, “‘Count the Stars’ is an EP about faith. Over the last few years I’ve encountered a number of you who have persistently asked me for a project that centered around my faith. This EP will consist of five songs explicitly about faith and life.”
Josh hopes to record his EP with award-winning producer Ed Cash, who has worked with artists including Dave Barnes, Bebo Norman, Vince Gill, Amy Grant, and Sara Groves. Personally, the project is “about getting to work professionally at a new level. Kickstarter support will go directly toward the cost of working with such a talented guy as we try to capture the best possible recordings of my songs.”
Bryan President Dr. Stephen Livesay said, “It’s exciting to see how God is using Josh’s talents for His glory. Josh has ministered in a variety of ways to the college since his graduation, and ‘Count the Stars’ takes his ministry to a whole new level. I pray God’s blessing on his exciting new step in this area.”
