Deadlines are approaching for Bryan’s top academic scholarships, the Presidential and Dean’s scholarships, with the first deadline Jan. 15, according to Campus Visit Coordinator Hannah Lee.
Both scholarships are awarded on the basis of early admission to the college, high school grades, college entrance test scores, and a personal interview. Approximately 100 students are expected to compete for each scholarship, she said.
Ms. Lee said the Presidential Scholarship competition weekend is Feb. 25-26, and the Dean’s Scholarship competition weekend will be March 18-19. In addition candidates for the Music Performance Scholarship may attend either event. Candidates for theatre scholarships also may attend the Dean’s Scholarship weekend.
Both competition events are scheduled to include a faculty reception, banquet, and musical performance on Friday and interviews with faculty or staff members on Saturday.
Ten percent of the candidates for both scholarships will be awarded the designation of “Merit” scholars. Ms Lee said notification of winners of the Presidential Merit Scholarships will begin March 7. Dean’s Merit Scholarship winners will be notified beginning April 7.
