Oct. 24, 2014 — The board of trustees of Bryan College have unanimously selected Delana Bice ‘74 as its new chairperson. Bice takes on the position following fourteen years on the board, the last six as vice-chair. Her soon-to-be predecessor Col. John Haynes (ret.) is retiring as chairman but will remain on the board. Bice is co-founder of BICE & Associates Real Estate Services, a brokerage and consulting firm in Houston, Texas.
Stepping into the role of vice-chair is J. Wayne Cropp ‘74, a trustee since 2007. Cropp is a prominent attorney in Chattanooga.
“I’m honored and humbled to have been elected chairperson of the Bryan College board of trustees,” said Bice. “I’m passionate about what God is doing in and through Bryan and I look forward to a prosperous future for the college.”
Bryan College President Stephen Livesay praised the board’s choice for its new chair and vice-chair.
“Delana Bice and Wayne Cropp are excellent choices to provide the next wave of leadership to the Bryan board of trustees,” said Livesay. “I’m excited to continue working closely with both of these accomplished individuals. At the same time, I offer my sincere thanks to Col. Haynes for his dedicated leadership and service to the Bryan community. I’m thrilled that he will continue to contribute to Bryan through his ongoing board participation.”
The trustees also voted to add Ronald D. Messer of Lebanon, Ohio, to the board, effective immediately. Ron is the president and CEO of a successful business, an active member of his community, a devoted husband and father (of a Bryan alum), and a devout Christian.
