Commencement to be held in Triangle

May 7, 2015

May 7, 2015 – Students, faculty, and staff are excited over the fact that, for the first time since 2011, this year’s spring commencement service will be held outside in the Triangle.

The 2015 ceremonies, both on May 9, include the graduation of 115 traditional students from the School of Arts and Sciences, along with 98 students from the School of Adult and Graduate Studies (AGS) – including 24 M.B.A. recipients. Graduating senior Daniel Katz will be giving the commencement address for the 9:30 ceremony, and Dr. Scott Jones will be speaking for the 3:00 AGS ceremony.

Also making an appearance on campus this weekend are 10 members of the Class of 1965 celebrating their Golden Anniversary class reunion.  Friday night offers a reunion dinner with special student-led music and door prizes, as well as a special time of mingling and memories.  At commencement these special alumni will come forward as Bryan College President Stephen D. Livesay presents them with commemorative diplomas.  Alumni Director Paulakay Hall will welcome the members of the Class of 2015 into the Bryan College Alumni Association.

The commencement ceremony for the School of Arts and Sciences is set to begin at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday in the Triangle, between the Latimer Student Center and Mercer Hall. For graduates from the School of Adult and Graduate Studies, commencement begins at 3 P.M. in Rudd Auditorium.
