Local Accommodations and Directions
Important Notice: Due to other area events happening concurrently with this event, we advise you to reserve your hotel as soon as possible.
Here is a list of hotels in the area, and remember that many offer a Bryan College discount if you tell them that you are coming for a scholarship event here
For those traveling by air, we offer pick-up and drop-off service at the Chattanooga Airport and at the Groome Transportation in Chattanooga. (Groome shuttles between the Atlanta and Nashville Airports.) We do not provide shuttle service to and from hotels; this service is intended for students who will be staying on campus. If you are flying and need to be picked up, you must send your flight itinerary at least one week in advance to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Financial Aid counselors will be available during posted hours to discuss financial aid options. They can serve you best if you have already submitted your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) before attending the event. See more information about the FAFSA.
When You Arrive on Campus
Check-in will be on Friday at 2:00 p.m. Check-in tables will be located just outside the Admissions Department on the second floor of the Mercer Hall. Visitor parking is located behind Mercer Hall and between the Latimer Student Center and Rudd Auditorium. We suggest you review and print a copy of the campus map so that you can easily find these locations.
Dress for the Saturday interviews and auditions is business attire.
For the Friday afternoon activities, attire should be dressy but not formal. Casual attire such as jeans, shorts, sweatshirts/pants, athletic shoes and flip flops are not appropriate for these venues. For ladies: dressy tops, skirts, slacks or dresses and dressy shoes are appropriate. For men, that would include dress or khaki slacks with a dress shirt and dress shoes.
For campus modesty guidelines, see pages 31 of the 2014-2015 Student Handbook.
Casual clothing is permitted during the rest of the weekend.
The overnight stay in a residence hall is restricted to participating scholarship candidates 16 years of age and older. Parents and other family members may stay in one of the Dayton hotels, many of which offer Bryan College discounts.
You will want to bring:
- Bedding (air mattress will be provided)
- Personal toiletries
- Appropriate Attire (see above)
Note: This event is free of charge for candidates, so unless you are purchasing items in our campus store, snacks from our Starbucks coffee kiosk, or other items from vending machines around campus, “spending money” will not be necessary.
Candidates’ meal tickets are free of charge and will be handed out at check-in. Parents/Guardians of candidates may attend the Scholarship Banquet free of charge. Tickets for other meals will be available for purchase at check-in; $7 per person per meal (lunch on Saturday only).

If for any reason you need to cancel, please notify Donna Belisle as soon as possible by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 423.775.7211.
