For High School Students
November 5, 2016
The Bryan Performing Arts Workshop and Festival is a 1-day event on a Saturday that aims to bring talented young artists from East Tennessee and nearby areas together. The workshop includes specialty tracks for instrumentalists, pianists, theatre, and vocalists as well as a large choral ensemble, a choice of music or theatre elective classes, and insight from current collegiate music/theatre majors. The day culminates in a performance which all parents and friends are invited to attend in Rudd Auditorium. Any high school student with a serious interest in the performing arts is welcome to apply.
Priority deadline is September 10. Other applicants may be accepted after the deadline as space permits until October 15. You will receive a letter regarding acceptance soon after. If accepted for your track, you will receive music/acting scripts to practice. It is important for you to get these materials early enough to prepare for the workshop.
A fee of $35 for the workshop includes the cost of music, activities, lunch for the day, and a t-shirt and is due by mail after you receive your acceptance letter. If you wish to stay on campus on Friday evening with a current Bryan student, you may indicate that on your application. For additional information or questions, please contact the Bryan Performing Arts Department at 423-775-7282 or by email.
