Tim Shetter

Bryan College is excited to announce that Alumnus Tim Shetter will take on the role of Alumni Engagement Officer.

Tim is a Rhea County native with a rich history and relationship with Bryan College. He earned a B.S. in Music Management from Bryan College in 2000 and an M.A. in Higher Education from Geneva College in 2020.

Tim’s relationship with Bryan College began several years before he was a student. His mom, Judy Shetter, began working at Bryan in 1987, and she has been serving students for over 30 years in the Admissions and Financial Aid offices. In addition, Tim’s first job in high school was on Bryan’s campus working for Argo’s food service. His sister, Melody Barry, graduated from Bryan in 2004 with a B.S. in Elementary Education.

After graduating, Tim began working at Bryan College in the Physical Plant Department. He served as the student worker supervisor and was honored as Staff Member of the Summer in 2001 for his role in the restoration of Mercer Hall. In addition, Tim has served 21 years in Student Life as a Resident Director, Assistant Dean, and Associate Dean of Students. He is now excited to join the Alumni and Advancement Team serving Bryan’s alumni. His desire is to partner, advocate, and invest in the alumni community.

Expanding on his hopes for his new position, Tim said,

“Like many alumni, Bryan has been a major part of my journey. I found amazing life-long friends, incredible faculty and staff, and wonderful co-workers to serve alongside. It is often said that Bryan is a transformational place; my life is evidence of that message. Our Heavenly Father places people in our lives to reshape and transform us into who He has created us to be. Each of us has been impacted by people God has placed in our lives. I’m excited for a partnership with alumni as we support and invest in each other as a Bryan community. I’m eager to create space and opportunities for alumni to impact the next generation of Bryan students.”

Alumni Director Paulakay Hall said,

“We are so excited to welcome Tim to our Alumni team! He brings with him a wealth of years of relationships with our Bryan community. That along with his warm and jovial personality is a winning combination. I look forward to collaborating with Tim on events and alumni gatherings to better serve our alumni family.”

Tim is from Grandview, about 30 minutes from Bryan, but currently resides in Dayton. He loves to travel and has journeyed around the globe. A few of his favorite places are India, Russia, and Micronesia. On his travel bucket list are Australia and Africa. He also enjoys playing golf, disc golf, cards, or just hanging out with friends.
